What is the RPSC First Grade Teacher Exam?

The RPSC First Grade Teacher Exam is a competitive examination held by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission to select candidates for the post of School Lecturer (First Grade Teacher) in various subjects in government schools.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the RPSC First Grade Teacher Exam, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Educational Qualification:

  • A Master’s Degree in the relevant subject from a recognized university with at least 50% marks.
  • A B.Ed. or equivalent degree from a recognized university.

Age Limit:

  • Minimum Age: 21 years
  • Maximum Age: 40 years
  • Age relaxation is applicable as per government norms for reserved categories.

    Selection Process

    The selection process for the RPSC First Grade Teacher Exam consists of two main stages:

  • Written Examination:

    • The written exam comprises two papers: Paper I (General Awareness and General Studies) and Paper II (Subject-Specific paper).
    • Both papers consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

  • Interview:

    • Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for an interview.

      Paper I: General Awareness and General Studies

    • Total Marks: 150
    • Duration: 1.5 hours
    • Topics: History, Geography, General Science, Indian Polity, Current Affairs, Mental Ability, etc.

    • Paper II: Subject-Specific

    • Total Marks: 300
    • Duration: 3 hours
    • Topics: Based on the subject chosen by the candidate, including teaching methods and pedagogy.

    • Note: There is a negative marking of 1/3 mark for each incorrect answer.
